Throughout this chapter, Jesus demonstrates His power over disease, demons, and even nature. He heals a leper, a paralytic servant, and Peter’s mother-in-law. He also calms a storm on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus’s encounters with a leper, a Roman centurion, and a group wanting to follow Him also reveal His compassion and the importance of faith.

Jesus also reveals that He is worthy of unconditional trust, and by following Him you may lose everything in this world. You may not even be guaranteed a roof over your head.
