Summary of Exodus 9

In this chapter, God instructs Moses to warn Pharaoh that a devastating pestilence will befall Egyptian livestock, but the Israelites’ animals will be spared. The plague arrives as prophesied, and Pharaoh’s advisors urge him to release the Israelites, but his heart remains hardened.

Next, God sent a plague of festering boils that broke out on all of the men and animals, but Pharoah’s heart still remains hardened.

Later, God commands Moses to warn Pharaoh of a coming hail storm unlike any seen before. Moses offers Pharaoh a chance to save his people and livestock by allowing the Israelites to leave. Pharaoh refuses, and the Lord unleashes a horrific hailstorm that devastates Egypt, while the land of Goshen, where the Israelites reside, is untouched.
