Summary of Exodus 4
God equips Moses with two signs to convince the Israelites: a staff that transforms into a snake and back into a staff and his hand turning leprous and being restored. A third sign is also given to Moses to use in case the Israelites still need convincing: pouring water from the Nile onto dry land that turns into blood.
Moses also expresses that he is not an eloquent speaker and has slow speech. God responds by making Moses’s brother Aaron his spokesperson for the Israelites. God assures Moses of his presence throughout the ordeal, letting him know that He will help them both and teach them what to do.
Encouraged, Moses returns to Egypt with his family and prepares to confront Pharaoh. The chapter concludes with the Israelites believing Moses and Aaron after witnessing the miraculous signs.
